Why a bifold costs what it does
Width is most of it. A 3 m opening is not a 2.4 m opening with a bit more glass — it is another panel, more track, heavier leaves and usually a structural lintel above it. That is why the step from £3,520 to £4,390 is steeper than the extra 600 mm suggests.
The rest is the opening itself. Bifolds usually replace a window or a single back door, so somebody has to make the hole bigger, and that is building work rather than glazing. If your opening is already the right size the figures above are the job; if it is not, add the builder.
French doors and a sliding patio door land in the same place as each other, around £1,670 to £3,036, and both are markedly cheaper than a bifold because there is less hardware and less glass carrying its own weight.

Facet Pro works from one photograph of the front of your house — that is where the front door is, and a UK front door is 1.98 m, which is what gives every measurement on this site its scale.
Bifolds and patio doors open onto the garden. They are not on that elevation, so we price them from the same rate card as everything else and we do not draw them onto the picture. A visualiser that put your bifolds on the front of your house would be showing you a building you do not own.
