Sliding, French or bifold
A sliding patio door gives the most glass for the money and takes no room to open, which suits a smaller garden or a room with furniture near the doors. French doors open fully but swing into the room or the garden. Bifolds open the whole width and cost the most.
All three are priced here for an existing opening of the same size. Widening the opening means a new lintel and building work, which is a different and larger job.
What is included in these prices
Supplying and fitting the door and frame, taking the old door away (£42 of the figure), standard hardware, and sealing around the frame. VAT is in every figure.
Not included: widening or re-forming the opening, a new step or threshold in stone, and internal decorating.
