Why the range is this wide
It is not uncertainty about the work. It is which company quotes it. The same eight windows, to the same specification, settle around 0.88× our base figure at the keener of the two national installers and about 1.6× at the other — and higher again if you accept the first number on the table.
That is the single biggest variable in what you will pay, and it has nothing to do with your house. It is why the estimate here is a range rather than one confident figure, and why it is worth getting more than one quote even when the first one sounds reasonable.
